| The Spartan Club The Seven Lakes High School Athletic Booster Club (also known as "The Spartan Club") was created as an avenue for supporters of the athletic programs, athletes, and school to provide funds for improvements and additions to Seven Lake’s athletic facilities, purchases of needed equipment for team and individual sports, coaching aids, and creating a vision for college scholarships to outstanding Spartan athletes. This financial support is made possible through Booster Club membership, concession stand revenue, the annual golf tournament, spirit wear sales and sports program book ad sales, all of which are functions of The Spartan Club. Membership is open to the families of Student Athletes of Seven Lakes High School, students, coaches, teachers, and any other person or organization that subscribes to the principles and purpose of The Spartan Club. The ‘07-’08 school year will bring with it the first ever class of senior Spartans. These student athletes look to The Spartan Club for experiences and traditions they will remember for a lifetime. Experiences such as looking into the stands at a sea of orange shirts, being recognized in publications or on record boards, and having a mascot to cheer them to victory. The Spartan Club does not benefit just one sport, but the entire athletic program. Motorized utility vehicles to transport water and supplies by the sports medicine trainers, and to speed response in case of emergency. On field storage facilities for training equipment makes practices more efficient. Record boards in the gymnasium to recognize team and individual achievements. Equipment such as money safes for the concession stands. The Spartan Club provides hospitality to coaches, officials, and media personnel at athletic events hosted at Seven Lakes, as well as KISD sponsored events. Simply put, the Spartan Club makes money so that it can spend money. A little known fact is that the school district provides the necessary, but minimal resources to all of the school’s Athletic Departments. Anything above and beyond these resources are the responsibility of booster clubs. Through parent/coach liaisons, needs are brought from the coaches or parents to the club’s committee meetings. The committee votes on the viability of the needs, and funds are allocated, if applicable. Though not always obvious, at each home athletic event, The Spartan Club is there. Many things are taken for granted each day, and booster club assistance is one of them. Can you imagine attending an athletic event with no concession stand? Or no school colors being worn? Or no end of year banquet to recognize your athlete’s hard work? Parent volunteers are the core of this assistance. Your input, involvement, and support is essential to the success of Seven Lakes athletic program. Help make a difference in your athletes lives. Help them achieve their goals and build lasting experiences.
